An 18 mile road walk with the Pile of Dudes due to a forest fire closure.  Asphalt in the sun is not fun!

Almost Awesome caught her first tumbleweed!  No need to worry we practice catch and release.

A road is a road even if it's dirt.  You get the same response telling a hiker that they have to road walk that you get when you tell a 5th grade boy that he has to wear a tie.  At least this was fairly nice scenery.

Hikertown.  A VERY unique place.  It is a spot with a bunch of old movie sets that hikers can stay at to get out of the wind and the heat.  It is a little Walt Disney meets Alfred Hitchcock if you ask me.

Sunrise leaving Hikertown.

Sunrise walk along the Los Angeles aqueduct........

.....and on top of it.

We started seeing a lot of Joshua Trees and they provided great shade and wind brakes during our afternoon siestas.
