Cue the Whitesnake 'cause "Here We Go Again"!

In 2012 we came upon a fork in the road of our lives.  One path would lead us down life, looking much similar to the life that we had, with questions and daily experiences that many people have and that looked good.  We were happy and doing OK for ourselves.  The other path was full of unknowns, fears, and certain physical and mental challenges.   We said "why not?" and we threw on our packs and chose the latter path.  That path happened to be the Appalachian Trail.  That year we put our "normal" lives on hold and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and we can say that we are better for it.  But instead of quenching our adventurous desires it was like throwing gas on a fire. The trip was formative in our relationship with each other, our environment and our Creator. Wants vs. needs vs. desires were explored and challenged.

As time and life have passed, we have grown eager to learn more from life in nature yet again. After much contemplation we decided to attend a second semester of  ”trail university”. The East coast was amazing to us and now we want to head to the Wild West so we will be attempting a thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. The PCT runs from the California/Mexico border to 10 miles across the Washington/Canada border. The total length is about 2650 miles. It passes through all but one of the ecosystems in North America.

This blog will chronicle our attempt to thru hike the Pacific Crest Trail. We can’t wait to experience this new adventure.  We will begin our walk and join the many others attempting the thru hike at the Annual Day Zero PCT Kick Off on April 25 at Lake Morena, CA
