Halfway!! Miles 1200 - 1335ish

These pictures were taken after we had stuffed our faces and resupplied in Sierra City.  It was glorious!

It was a long, exposed climb but we were in the afternoon shade of the mountains and it was pretty windy so it made the uphill much more enjoyable.

This is more reasons why........
.....we love to hike early in the mornings.

Aaaahhhh, road crossings! Either the graffiti was a subtitle and illustration for the bullet holes or the machine gun fire was the accenting of the graffiti.  We are still debating it and it still makes us laugh!  It is a veritable chicken or the egg quandary.

Sometimes......

...... it is hours and hours of views.
There are just SO MANY!!

Almost Awesome at Lookout Rock taking in a totally awesome sunrise!

Something new on the lunch menu!  Half a block of cream cheese on a tortilla with one half covered in Cheetos and the other in kettle chips.  On which side do we start?  Decisions, decisions.

We made it to the Halfway Marker!  This  marker is based on old mileage and is actually about 6 miles short of the true halfway but we still feel like celebrating.

The REAL Half Way point!  We are feeling better knowing that we are now closer to Canada than we are to Mexico.
